A group of young people coming from Grenoble French city practise a very uncommon sport : the baked custard swallowing. This very peculiar game has official rules and gather dozens of young people into the Baked Custard Swallowing French Federation. Those young people regularly organise tournaments where they can train. We followed Laurent, an experienced swallower, during one of these very special parties. He told us about the rules of the game in every details and some of his friends showed us their most famous swallowing. The “relay” involves, for example, a team of 6 people who have to swallow two baked custards each, one after the other. But Laurent becomes the attraction of the party when he pulls on his Neoprene suit and his diving mask so as to swallow his baked custard from a bowl filled with water. With more than 300 baked custards swallowed in one night, the members of the Federation are longing to be rewarded with the title of Baked Custard Official Testers.
