In the souk of Marrakech, you can find anything you like whatever your tastes may be and however your bank account may look. For several generations, Majid’s family has owned a spices shop located in the souk. Having learned the job from his fathers, Majid is now in charge of the shop. Hundreds of tins are lined up on the shelves occupying 10 square metres of the place. Their multicolour contents can be used for three different purposes : cooking, make up and health. Close to Majid’s shop, real con men speak highly of their potions, trying to convince people that they can cure any type of disease. Majid is not a doctor. He just wants to help his customers improving their everyday life. His grand father taught him how to distinguish one plant from another, how to pick them and how to cook them so as to make the best out of them. We spent a whole day with Majid, who explained us about the positive effects of his mixes.
